Velobet presents gambling as entertainment, and when it stops being fun or begins to affect finances, relationships or mental health, it is time to act. This page covers the tools available in every Velobet account and the free Canadian support services available outside the casino, from helplines to provincial self-exclusion programs.
All tools below are available in account settings without contacting support. Changes that increase access (raising a deposit cap, ending a self-exclusion early) may be subject to a 24-hour cooling-off period. Reductions take effect immediately.
Log in to the Velobet account, open Account Settings and select the Responsible Gaming section. Choose the limit type (daily, weekly or monthly), enter the amount in C$ and confirm. The limit is active immediately. To lower an existing limit, repeat the steps; the lower figure applies without delay.
Problem gambling rarely begins with one obvious event. These patterns are common early signs:
If more than two of these apply, getting independent advice before continuing is the practical step — not a sign of weakness.
The following organizations provide free, confidential support. None of them require a person to have stopped gambling before getting in touch.
| Organization | Contact | Available |
|---|---|---|
| ConnexOntario — Ontario Problem Gambling Helpline | 1-866-531-2600, connexontario.ca | 24 hours, 7 days |
| Responsible Gambling Council | responsiblegambling.org | Information and provincial help listings |
| OLG My PlayBreak (Ontario self-exclusion) | OLG Customer Careline, 1-800-387-0098 | Breaks from 3 months to 5 years |
| Provincial voluntary self-exclusion programs | British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Atlantic provinces | Through the provincial lottery and gaming corporation |
Provincial self-exclusion programs cover the casinos and online platforms run or approved in each province. Velobet is not part of these programs, so registering with My PlayBreak or a similar scheme does not close a Velobet account. The self-exclusion tool in the account should be used as well, and filtering software such as Gamban can restrict access to gambling sites on all devices.
Velobet does not allow anyone under 18 to register or play, and age checks are part of KYC. In Canada the legal gambling age is 19 in most provinces and 18 in Quebec, Alberta and Manitoba, so the stricter local rule applies. Parents and guardians can use parental control software, such as NetNanny or Gamban's family tools, to restrict gambling sites on shared devices.
Gambling should remain entertainment with a fixed budget, never a financial strategy. Limits are best set before the first session, not after a losing run.
